York City fans raise a toast with Farewell Bootham Crescent Charity Gin

York City fans can now raise a toast to their old ground while they await their first match in their new digs - with a bottle of ‘Farewell Bootham Crescent’ charity gin.

Each bottle of a limited run of 89 bottles unique bottles sold out within minutes of going on sale.

Bottles marking the club's whole history at the ground are still on sale in the York Gin shop

The normal York Gin logo has been replaced with illustrations from the ground’s history by award-winning artist Chrissy Moon, and the motto ‘FAREWELL BOOTHAM CRESCENT’.

The 70cl bottles went on sale for £39 at 9am on Friday 5 February on the York Gin website www.yorkgin.com/ycfc.

£5 from each bottle of the London Dry gin will go to brain injury charity, Headway - headway.org.uk. Old Minsterman Dan Parslow has been a tireless supporter of the charity after his own injury.

From the highs of the second division and a cup win over Arsenal, to the lows of the David Longhurst tragedy, Bootham Crescent played host to some unforgettable moments. The club’s new home is the brand-new 8,500 seat LNER Community Stadium. LNER stadium
