Actually Made in York

We are very happy with our “Actually Made In York” accreditation

This is an excellent campaign highlighting authentic craft distillers like York Gin.

We take our responsibilities as York’s first distillery very seriously.

Not only are we committed to making some of the world’s best spirits right here in the City of York. We are also committed to looking after our York team with well-paid, meaningful, and enjoyable jobs.

And we are pledged to being as sustainable as we possibly can be. For example, our York distillery and shops are powered by 100% green energy, none of our waste goes to landfill, and all our packaging is plastic free.

As well as making every drop of York Gin in York, we are also very proud to support local wherever we can.

The pure flavourless neutral grain alcohol at the base of our gins is distilled only a few miles away near Selby. It comes from grain grown on Yorkshire farms, too.

All our bottles are made by sustainable glass makers Verallia in Leeds - only 20 miles away. Our unique castellated and branded bottles contain over 40% less glass than our original bottles. Our miniature bottles are made from nearly all recycled glass.

All our plastic-free packaging is made in Yorkshire by sustainability pioneers Packaging Answers from Leeds.

Our plastic labels are made in nearby Bradford by the brilliant Label Makers.

And we use local suppliers for our non-core products including:

• York Gin jam and marmalade made by York’s Bessie’s Yorkshire Preserves
• Branded gifts and souvenirs made by York up-cyclers PurePallets

And we support other top-class local producers like York’s Guppy’s chocolates, North Yorkshire’s SloeMotion distillery, and York Digital Design.

So “Actually Made In” really says what it means.
